Dear Readers -
It is that time, to announce my first GIVEAWAY! Seems that other bloggers offer "free gifts" to encourage their readers to keep coming back...I thought my recipes were enough, but perhaps a little sweet incentive will get my folks coming back for even more! In honor of making it past 10,000 hits (just last week making it past 5,000 - go figure) I'd like to offer a free giveaway! All you have to do to enter is write the NUMBER of things you've made from the blog (be honest - I know most of you and how much you've been cooking.) It DOESN'T count to say that you've done the same recipe 5 times - that would just be ONE towards your tally. Please leave some sort of way to contact you (or again, as I know most of you I'll probably figure it out.) The giveaway is courtesy of my friend over at www.silliesmile.com who will be doing something cute and fun for my readers. (it will be a paper based gift.)
I look forward to hearing how many things have been made...
Cheers!

This is my first visit to your blog, and I am so impressed with everything you've done! What a wealth of information lies inside all these posts of yours. We share many of the same feelings about cooking from scratch, at home. I especially like your posts about parties and menus. LOVED the fish-shaped fruit salad. Will be back to visit often. :) Oh, and congratulations on 10,000 hits.
Congrats on 10,000. That last 5,000 was very quick.
I have made 6 things.
Pumpkin Muffins
Pork Chops
Brussel Sprouts
Sausage, Spinach, Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella Pasta
Ham, Potato, Aspargus, Havarti Cheese Bake
Roasted Sweet Potato Circles
hi joanne ;)...wow -- very impressive! i'm not surprised that you've gotten these many hits! so far i've made:
curried chicken salad, garlic broccoli, maple cornbread stuffing
Horseradish Garlic Crusted Prime Rib, Scalloped Potato Gratin, Salmon Agrodolce, Ginger Soy BBQ Chicken, and Korean BBQ Beef Flank Steak.
hey joanne - i've made three things to date, including the doffins, what's leftover in fridge pasta, and kimchee with pork and tofu! congratulations!
Well, I send a lot of your recipes to my mother, so she has cooked some and I have cooked some... she's all about easy healthy recipes. With her medical diet restrictions, she also can use some new creative ideas, she loves the paprika chicken and the shrimp!
Me:
Garlic Broccoli
Asian Salmon
Salmon Agrodolce
Pasta Ala Norma
Zucchini Patties (no egg)
Pasta with vodka cream sauce (a few changes based on what I had on hand)
Turkey Chilli - not quite the same, but you inspired me (as you always do)
Her:
Paprika Roast Chicken - she commented on your blog on this one (well I posted what she said to me on the phone)
Scampi Fra Diavlo - which she loved
and another, but I can't recall which...
I enjoy that I can share your recipes with others, and your insights into how to make things easier with the kids, etc... The kids party ideas, and theme meals are really helpful.
The blog is a very good mix of story, photos and recipes.
Looking forward to seeing you have 100,000 hits!!
wow, congrats on 10,000 and many more to come! did i miss the giveaway? i think i've made about 6 of your dishes. all fabulous and can't wait to try out more!
I just added 2 more to my list tonight for dinner. I made Asian Salmon and Roasted Broccoli with Garlic. Yum!!
congrats on 10,000 hits my crazy friend!
i have tried 19 of your recipes i think:
banana muffins, pork chops, brussel sprouts, sausage spinach pasta, sake chicken, korean flank steak, bi bim bop, green beans, broccoli with garlic, curried chicken salad, moroccan chicken, paprika chicken, asian salmon, cranberry-toffee choc chip cookies, horseradish crusted prime rib, egg rolls, goh-lee gook, spinach banchan, fried kimchee with tofu...i think there must be a few more i'm forgetting but suffice it to say that i have tried A LOT of your recipes and love them all! thanks for making my life just a little bit easier!!
I made 3 things: your choco-oatmeal-toffee cookies (yum!), the ginger soy chicken (yum! yum!), and pasta with vodka sauce(yummissimo!)
--The Duffin Dauphin
i may not have tried the most recipes from this blog but dare you find someone who has tasted as many as i have... whether it was when you were CH's personal chef or now - almost 10 years later. i recently had your sausage pasta in irvine, your asian salmon at a women's luncheon in dublin, ca, and got beat out at a christmas cookie-share with your toffee oatmeal cookie in pleasanton, ca. now, i'm in chicago and my brother just screamed "bookmark, bookmark" when i showed him this site. it's sweeping the nation!
i guess this means that i'll just have to cook more. btw - in talking to a friend in walnut creek, she mentioned your web site. i'm telling you - i can't get away :)
