I can't wait to try it out :)

my husband told me that I used to talk with eh gyo (cutesy talk?) but the longer we're married it seemed to have gone away, so for a few months I put a ton of effort into getting that back and it's back most of the time, but I really like what your friend said about remembering what you first loved about your husband. I'll have to incorporate it into my thoughts too! thanks for the post ^__^katenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747618293350122712.post-6464865125614064472013-11-20T22:43:26.774-08:002013-11-20T22:43:26.774-08:00Joanne, you're not alone! I'm working on being more self aware of myself and of others. I think recognizing your self and working on improvement is journey to a better self (with the help of the Holy Spirit)!teahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04614735773297299066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747618293350122712.post-24568648871005535412013-11-14T01:26:41.849-08:002013-11-14T01:26:41.849-08:00Such an important reminder. You know, I listen to ...Such an important reminder. You know, I listen to how my husband speaks to my boys and he never barks orders or nags. I asked him once about that and he said he always gets their attention first by looking at them in the eye BEFORE speaking. I thought that was so insightful, but I find I am too rushed to walk the 5-10 feet to do that whether it's speaking to my kids or my husband. I used to blame it on having my hands full changing diapers but now that #2 is a toddler I need to remember that wise advice: take time to look someone in the eye to get their attention and be attentive. Not sure this answers the tender talk question, but I find my tone and sense of impatience and urgency changes the times I manage to do this. Being the oldest daughter of two brothers, I am bossy and it's definitely hard for me to speak tenderly! I always figured they know I love them, my bossy voice means I mean business and it just gets things done. It wasn't until I had a management position that I learned to curb it in and that was a hard lesson to learn!

xx, julie
//obsessed//Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10969583216820275683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747618293350122712.post-63416888325346435922013-11-13T16:14:14.379-08:002013-11-13T16:14:14.379-08:00I am not very tender too...something I need to wor...I am not very tender too...something I need to work on. Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone in the lack of tender talk.

I'm a former high school English teacher...I just work with a few students from home now.

On the frozen apples...I'm going to say no, because the cake is moist and overly soft apples will probably just make it soggy.
Joanne Choihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03378851870526242783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747618293350122712.post-1066672597492652652013-11-13T15:41:10.636-08:002013-11-13T15:41:10.636-08:00I'd bet all moms have to be careful about slip...I'd bet all moms have to be careful about slipping into bossy mode with their husbands. I generally just aim for asking nicely rather than telling my hubby when I want things done. Or begging. ;)

That cake looks amazing. I want to make it soon as I get home tonight. But do you think it would work okay with frozen apples instead of fresh? I have a large bag of slices, frozen apples I have been using for pies. But they get a little moist when thawed...Sparks of Emberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12971371995599010711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747618293350122712.post-4464402280947940082013-11-13T14:07:24.060-08:002013-11-13T14:07:24.060-08:00So wise. My husband told me I don't smile at him enough, which I think translates to: you don't look excited to see me.

Must work on my tender talk, too. Thanks.

(And, what kind of teacher are you? Perhaps you said that somewhere. I used to be a high school English teacher, so the thesis talk sounds very familiar! And now I'm an editor - like grading papers without the classroom. I love my husband don't get me wrong. I'm sure you know how I feel...have to get things done and make sure everything is in place and who is responsible for everyone? ME! Thanks for sharing this recipe and sharing a little something about you. Just give your husband a hug and a kiss out of the blue. He know's you love him. ^_^ Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00212275881499069534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747618293350122712.post-89934423927107896052013-11-13T11:12:22.155-08:002013-11-13T11:12:22.155-08:00Much food for thought! But I know it's what the Lord would want, but it sure is hard to remember what, if any, love was once there.Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05454690665258566957noreply@blogger.com
